• 12h : The intermediary struggle - London // De specifieke strijd - Londen // in english
  Ndls// Kameraden uit Londen brengen een discussie over ervaringen, vreugde en limieten van anarchistische interventie in de strijd tegen razzia’s tegen migranten in de gevangenisstad, die plaatshad in 2015-16. Het kader van deze discussie is de kwestie van de verspreiding van insurrectionalistische methodes binnen wat ‘specifieke strijden’ genoemd wordt. Samengevat is dit een anarchistische methode die gebaseerd is op de principes van informele organisatie (gebaseerd op affiniteit), permanent conflict (continue directe aanval) en nul compromis met formele instituties (ngo’s, kerken, linkse groepen etc.). De discussie zal zich centreren rond hoe deze gelimiteerde ervaringen ons pad vandaag kunnen verlichten, nu de noodzaak om onze methodes en doelen m.b.t. zelforganisatie van de strijd in vraag te stellen dringender is dan ooit.
  Eng// Comrades from London will host a discussion on the experiences, joys and limitations, of an anarchist intervention in the struggle against immigration raids in the prison city which took place in 2015-16. The framework for the encounter will be the question of the spread of insurrectionalist methods on the basis of what has been termed ’the intermediary struggle’. Broadly, this is an anarchist methodology based on the precepts of informal organization (based on affinity), permanent conflictuality (continual direct attack) and 0 compromise with formal institutions (charities, churches, leftist groups etc.). The discussion will centre on how these limited experiences can illuminate our path today, where the need for reopening the question of our methods and objectives with regard to the self-organization of the struggle couldn’t be more urgent.

• 12h : Meldet.org en hun strijd tegen seksueel grensoverschrijdend gedrag // Meldet.org and their struggle against sexual harassment // in nederlands
  Ndls// Meldet is een onafhankelijke Genste organisatie, met oog op maatschappelijke verandering waarbij discriminatie, grensoverschrijdend gedrag en seksueel geweld erkend en bestreden worden. In deze talk vertelt meldet over hun oorsprong, benadering en visie, over activisme, safe(r) spaces en de noodzakelijke (?) samenwerking met een systeem dat verkrachtingscultuur beschermt.
  Eng// Meldet is an independent organization from Ghent, with the purpose of social change where discrimination, harassment and sexual violence are recognized and tackled. In this talk, meldet will speak about their origins, approach and vision, about activism, safe(r) spaces and the necessary (?) cooperation with a system that protects rape culture.

• 14h : Woonstrijd en kraken in Nederland // Housing struggle and squatting in the Netherlands // in english
  Ndls// Net als vele andere Europese landen, wordt Nederland nog maar eens geconfronteerd met een serieus woningtekort. Kraken heeft een belangrijke rol gespeeld in de geschiedenis van woonstrijd in Nederland. Ondanks het kraakverbod van 2010, zien we een kleine heropleving van deze praktijk. In de laatste jaren zagen we verschillende grotere kraakacties van jonge studenten die hopeloos op zoek zijn naar een woning. Bijvoorbeeld : de twee beruchte Weldeck Pyrmontlaan acties en Elektra Flinta in Utrecht.
  Maar welke rol kan kraken echt spelen in het bouwen van sociale bewegingen en het bewegen in de richting van anarchistische sociale revolutie, voorbij kraken als enkel een manier om een dak boven het hoofd te hebben ?
  Deze presentatie, die wordt gegeven door twee actieve krakers uit Nederland, zal hierover het licht schijnen en hun perspectief verkennen. Ze zullen ook wat ervaringen delen over de huidige woonstrijd en de kraakbeweging. Tenslotte is er tijd voor vraag en antwoord en discussie.
  Eng// Along with many other European countries, the Netherlands is yet again facing serious housing shortage. Squatting has played a large role in the struggle for housing in the Netherlands’ history, and despite the squatting ban from 2010, we’re seeing a small resurgence of the practice. The past year 2022 we’ve had numerous large squatting action by young students in desperate need of housing, for example : the two infamous Weldeck Pyrmontlaan actions and or Elektra Flinta in Utrecht. But outside of squatting just being the means for some to acquire a roof over their heads, what role can squatting really play in the building of social movements and working towards anarchist social revolution ?
  This talk, given by two active squatters in The Netherlands will seek to shed some light and give their perspective on these questions. They will also share their experience within the contemporary housing struggle and squatting movement. Afterwards a Q&A will also be held

• 14h : Voor een opstandige strijd tegen patriarchaat en de wereld die erop teert // For a insurrectional struggle against patriarchy and the world that thrives on it // in english + nederlands
  Ndls// Het patriarchaat...iets van de vorige eeuw voor de ene, iets onbekend voor de andere. Slechts iets ’persoonlijks’ tussen mensen voor de ene, iets om een identiteit rond op te bouwen, of herleid tot iets onzichtbaar naast Staat en Kapitaal voor de andere. We willen voorbij gaan aan de academische uiteenzettingen die de machtsverhoudingen haarfijn analyseren zonder zich ooit in de strijd te gooien, of aan de activistische voorstellen zonder inhoud noch revolutionair perspectief.
  We willen kijken naar de sociale realiteit die zich afspeelt rondom ons en ons de vraag stellen waar patriarchale machtsverhoudingen zich uitdrukken en hoe we ertegen kunnen ageren, vanuit een opstandig antagonisme dat zich elke dag, in elke relatie en tegen elke machtsstructuur afspeelt.
  We zijn moe, we voelen ons alleen, en tegelijkertijd branden we van verlangen om deze kwesties samen uit te spitten. Kom met strijdervaringen, teksten, bedenkingen die jou inspireren. Verwacht geen monoloog.
  Eng// Patriarchy...something from the last century for some, something unknown for others. Just something ’personal’ between people for some, something to build an identity around, or reduced to something invisible next to State and Capital for others. We want to go beyond the academic discourses that analyse the power relations minutely without ever engaging in struggle, or the activist proposals without content nor revolutionary perspective. We want to look at the social reality that is going on around us and ask ourselves where patriarchal power relations express themselves and how we can act against them, from a rebellious antagonism that takes place every day, in every relationship and against every power structure.
  We are tired, we feel alone, and at the same time we burn with desire to explore these questions together. Come with experiences of struggle, texts, reflections that inspire you. Do not expect a monologue.

• 15h30 : Een anarchistisch perspectief op de oorlog in Oekraïne // An anarchist perspective on the war in Ukraine // in english
  Ndls// We zullen proberen te hebben over enkele aspecten van dit enorme thema, zoals :
  * Een antwoord op de oorlog van anarchisten uit Oekraïne, Wit-Rusland en Rusland.
  * Protestbewegingen en directe actie tegen de oorlog, lokale initiatieven van wederzijdse hulp. De repressie tegen deze bewegingen.
  * Internationaal antwoord en vluchtelingencrisis
  * Perspectieven voor de anti-autoritaire beweging in Oost-Europa.
  Na de presentatie is er tijd voor vraag en antwoord en discussie
  Eng// We will try to cover some parts of this huge topic, such as :
  * Response of anarchists in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia to the war.
  * Protest movements and direct action against the war, local initiatives and mutual aid. Repression against them.
  * International response and refugee crisis.
  * Perspectives for the anti-authoritarians movement in the Eastern Europe.
  After the presentation there would be time for Q&A and discussion.

• 15h30 : Kraakmeeting // Squatting meeting // in english + nederlands
  Ndls// Gedurende 2021 deden zich een reeks politieke acties voor in en om Gent die inhoudelijk sterk verwant waren aan elkaar. De groepen die deze acties droegen waren verschillend, maar genoeg mensen participeerden in meerdere van de actiegroepen, om van een beweging te kunnen spreken.
  Alles begon op Kerstmis met Bernadette Blijft, een squat van twee aanpalende huizen in de Bernadettewijk (Sint-Amandsberg). Samen met de inwoners van de buurt - huurders van sociale woningen - eisten de bezetters meer inspraak bij WoninGent, de eigenaar van de woningen.
  Een onderwerp dat onrechtstreeks te maken had met Bernadette Blijft - de privatisering van publieke gronden - stond centraal in drie daaropvolgende squats : Leven in het Pand (een deel van het Caemersklooster dat gebruikt werd voor sociale woningen), het Blauwhuis (een hoeve met verschillende hectaren), Kraakhaard (huizen van een sociale woonwijk). Zoals men met Bernadette Blijft opkwam voor kapitaalarmen en ontheemden van België, wilde men met de bezetting van het UFO (Universiteit Gent) steun bieden aan de hongerstakende sans-papiers in de Brusselse Begijnhofkerk, de VUB en de ULB. We geven een overzicht van de gebeurtenissen en duiden de acties inhoudelijk. Daarmee willen we in de eerste plaats aanknopingspunten bieden aan groepen uit andere steden en streken om hun ervaringen te delen.

• 17h : Feminist choir workshop // Atelier chorale féministe // in english + en français
  Eng// The Strike Sisters is a feminist choir born in the wake of the feminist strike on the 8th of march 2018. The choir is a women-trans-nonbinary caucus space (no cisgendered men) and organizes as an autonomous and horizontal group. As Strike Sisters, we want to sing :
  * to support different struggles, in solidarity with all those who face the multiple violences of racist and patriarcal capitalism ;
  * to empower ourselves mutually, occupy public space, take our power back ;
  * put the practice of singing back in our daily lives, in the streets, parcs, bars, picket lines, demos and struggles ;
  * share pleasure in doing this, be moved together and stay alive !
  At the a-bookfair on this 14th of may, we will propose a 1 hour workshop, where we will share two or three songs of struggle (in english, french, spanish, italian...), then we will do a short participative gig of about 1/2 hour, with the people who took part in the workshop, where we will invite the « public » to sing with us. There is no singing level or experience required to take part in this workshop. You are all welcome !
  Fr// Les Strike Sisters est une chorale féministe née dans la foulée de la grève féministe du 8 mars 2018. Elle est en mixité choisie (sans hommes cisgenres), fonctionne en autogestion et de manière horizontale. Avec les Strike Sisters, nous voulons chanter pour :
  * soutenir les luttes, nous solidariser avec toustes celleux qui affrontent les multiples violences du capitalisme racial et patriarcal ;
  * nous renforcer mutuellement, occuper l’espace public, récupérer notre puissance ;
  * remettre la pratique du chant dans nos vies au quotidien, dans les rues, les parcs et les bars, dans les piquets de grève et les manifestations, dans les luttes ;
  * partager du plaisir, vibrer ensemble et rester vivant-e-s !
  A la foire du livre ce samedi 14 mai, nous proposons un atelier de +-1h, durant lequel nous transmettrons deux ou trois chants de lutte (en anglais, français, espagnol, italien...), puis un mini concert participatif de +-1/2h avec les personnes ayant pris part à l’atelier, durant lequel nous inviterons le « public » à chanter avec nous. Il n’y a aucun niveau de chant requis pour participer. Bienvenu-e-s à toustes !
