Certains éléments de ce processus se manifestent ouvertement chaque jour : augmentation des budgets de l’armement, naturalisation et banalisation des discours guerriers, habituation et préparation des « populations » à cette « nécessité ».
Avec une telle politique militaire, les conséquences sur les classes laborieuses à ce stade, limitées aux territoires nationaux, entraînent déjà ici un renforcement des mesures d’austérité, une réduction décomplexée des droits et une extension du contrôle social.
Mais elle pourrait aussi mener à des affrontements sur le sol européen, une mobilisation générale au nom des intérêts nationaux, et à l’instauration d’un état d’exception à durée indéterminée.
Ici en Belgique, cette situation affecte déjà négativement une grande partie des personnes qui ne sont pas du côté du manche, et rien n’indique qu’elle ne s’aggravera pas rapidement dans les temps qui viennent, à tel point qu’elle nous semble dès maintenant devoir faire l’objet d’une question commune aux forces de gauche.

Dans la suite des rencontres qui se sont tenues à Bruxelles en octobre (https://stuut.info/Discussions-Anarchists-in-the-First-World-War-4676) à l’Ades’if, au Boom et au Steki (qui seront prolongées le 21 janvier à Liège et prochainement dans des lieux en Flandre), nous vous invitons à une assemblée ouverte pour analyser et penser ensemble la situation actuelle, et confronter et élaborer nos perceptions de ce que nous pouvons faire pour nous organiser et agir contre cette logique de guerre.

We are witnessing an acceleration of the march of the European bourgeois states towards a re-militarisation of the war that the national (also into their international alliances) capitalist classes wage against one another.
Some elements of this process are openly manifested every day : increase in the budgets for armaments, naturalization and trivialization of the war speeches, habituation and preparation of « populations » to this « necessity ».
With such a military policy, the consequences on the working class so far, limited to national territories, already entail a strengthening of austerity measures, an uninhibited reduction of rights and an extension of social control.
But it could also lead to battles on European soil, a general mobilization in the name of national interests and the establishment of an indefinite state of emergency.
Here in Belgium, this situation already negatively affects a large part of people who are not on the safe side of the social spectrum and there is no indication that it will not deteriorate rapidly in the times to come, to the point that it seems to us that it should be the subject of a shared question for the forces of the left.

Following the meetings held in Brussels in October (https://stuut.info/Discussions-Anarchists-in-the-First-World-War-4676) at l’Ades’if, le Boom Café and le Steki (which will be extended on the 21st of January in Liège and soon in a few places in Flanders), we invite you to an open assembly to analyse and think together the current situation, to confront and develop our perceptions of what we can do to organize ourselves and act against the capitalist logic of war.
